if you use spinach ravioli to make this dish it would display the colors of the italian flag - red tomatoes - green ravioli - white mozzarella. i used red tomatoes, white ravioli and cheese and green basil to make this ravioli caprese!
Ingredients
- 24 spinach or regular ravioli
- 4 yellow tomatoes sliced into 6 slices each
- salt & pepper
- 1 jar good marinara sauce
- fresh mozzarella slices
- basil leaves
Instructions

preheat the broiler

cook ravioli as directed in boiling salted water

season tomatoes with salt & pepper

heat marinara sauce in a large skillet

as the ravioli cooks add the sliced tomatoes to the marinara sauce and simmer to soften the tomatoes

drain the ravioli and place one on top of each tomato

top with sliced mozzarella and place under the broiler to melt and brown the mozzarella

top with basil leaves to serve
