Salisbury steak is a simple inexpensive meal that is fancy enough for company. serve it with mashed potatoes and peas & carrots for a hearty meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tbl ketchup
- 1 tbl worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- salt & pepper
- 1 tbl butter
- 1 tbl olive oil
- 1 onion thinly sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbl ketchup
- 1 tsp gravy master
- 1 tbl worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- salt & pepper
Instructions

mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, ketchup, worcestershire sauce. dry mustard and salt & pepper

form into 4 oval patties and put 3 grooves in them to make them look like steak

fry patties in butter and olive oil until brown and pour off fat

remove the patties and add onions and cook until soft and brown

add the beef stock, ketchup, gravy master, worcestershire sauce

mix the cornstarch in ¼ cup water and add to the sauce

bring to a boil and let thicken

season with salt & pepper and return patties to the pan

spoon gravy over and simmer until warm
